Privacy policy
Last updated 30 September 2026
Appel Property Group respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain terms, what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how we look after it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) wherever they apply to us.
What we collect
We only collect personal information that we need for our work. This usually includes:
- your name, phone number, email address and business or company name;
- details you give us about a property, a portfolio, your requirements or a transaction;
- records of our communications with you;
- identity and verification information where the law requires us to collect it, for example under anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws.
We collect most information directly from you, when you send an enquiry through this website, email or call us, or meet with us. Sometimes we receive information from other people involved in a transaction, such as vendors, purchasers, landlords, tenants, agents, lawyers and financiers, or from public sources such as land title records.
This website
When you use the enquiry form, we collect the details you enter so we can reply to you. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics to profile visitors.
Our website host (Netlify) automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and secure the site. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
How we use your information
- to respond to your enquiry;
- to provide our advisory, transaction management and development services;
- to manage and complete transactions you are involved in;
- to tell you about property opportunities or services that may interest you, if you have not asked us to stop;
- to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed, for example with:
- other parties to a transaction, and their advisers, when this is part of the service you have asked for;
- service providers who support our business, such as email, IT and website hosting providers;
- government bodies and regulators, or others, where the law requires or allows it.
Information stored overseas
Some of our service providers store information outside Australia. For example, enquiry form submissions are handled by our website host and may be stored on servers in the United States. We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected.
Marketing messages
If we send you information about properties or our services, you can ask us to stop at any time by replying to the message or contacting us. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. When we no longer need information, and are not required by law to keep it, we securely destroy it or remove identifying details.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we cannot give you access, we will explain why.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first. We will look into it and respond, usually within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
